David Lynch has died

Last year, Lynch said that he had been diagnosed with pulmonary emphysema after smoking cigarettes all his life. At the time, the director said he would no longer be able to leave the house to direct. His family announced his death in a post on Facebook.

"We would appreciate some privacy at this time. There’s a big hole in the world now that he’s no longer with us.  But, as he would say, "Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole." It’s a beautiful day with golden sunshine and blue skies all the way," David's family wrote.
